Throughout this blog, we have learned that errors in pronunciation are pretty common. The most important part of it is recognizing them and trying to correct them; there are many different techniques that we can use to do it, it's just a matter of finding the ones that fit us. This would be helpful for everybody learning a second language, but it is especially relevant to us as current students and future teachers because we will already know what types of errors students are prone to make and how we can try to correct them.   

Some of the difficulties I faced, personally, involved designing the exercises; trying to find a type of exercise that would fit the specific error we were discussing and the different items for each. Nevertheless, I really liked the activity as a whole because it taught me a lot about why we as Spanish native speakers make some errors and how there is always an explanation for every one of them.

As a Spanish speaker, I have struggled with pronunciation in English. Because there are differences in the patterns of stress and intonation between English and Spanish, and this difficulties have been a challenge for me when speaking fluently. Making me feel self-concious when speaking English in front of English speakers and being worried about being misunderstood due my accent. 

Working in this blog help me to understand that in learning a second language it is important to practice regularly to continue improving my pronunciation, and also it is important to embrace one's accent and not feel ashamed of it.

As an ESL learner who has struggled with confusing the /v/ and /b/ sounds, I have learned a great deal about identifying pronunciation errors and designing exercises for error correction. Through my own experience and observation, I have come to understand the importance of being able to identify errors and develop effective strategies for correcting them.

The most important details in this project are the importance of practicing minimal pairs to help distinguish between similar sounds. By focusing on words that differ by only one sound, such as "vet" and "bet," the speaker has been able to train their ears and mouth to differentiate between the /v/ and /b/ sounds. This has been a highly effective method for correcting own errors and for designing exercises for others. In the future, the speaker plans to use this experience to identify and address their own errors in pronunciation and to design effective exercises for error correction for their own students. They hope to provide their students with the tools and skills they need to improve their pronunciation and communication in English.

Overall, my experience with identifying errors and designing exercises for error correction has been highly informative and valuable. By continuing to focus on these strategies, both as a student and a potential future teacher, I hope to improve my own pronunciation and help others improve theirs as well.

3. Differentiating between the /v/ and /b/ pronunciations

  Why does it happen? Spanish speakers may confuse the "v" and "b" sounds in English because these sounds are not distinguished in the same way in the Spanish language.   Why does it happen? It's important to note that not all Spanish speakers necessarily mispronounce the "th" sound in English words.
